You. Alright, friends, it's time for another episode of Flip the Script with Vic. I'm your host, Victoria Nielsen. We got a good one today. I know this is gonna ruffle some feathers, but you are entirely responsible for your energy. I'm gonna say it again. You're responsible for your energy. And that means your energetic sovereignty, that means your energetic hygiene, but also the energy that you are spewing out into the world.
[00:00:32]:
And I know my husband is going to laugh at this episode because I can be one cranky bitch, but I take full responsibility for that energy that I'm putting out into the world. And I first learned about this idea of radical responsibility when I went to Burning Man, god, 2017 maybe. And of course, it applied to taking care of your campsite and being responsible for yourself and what happens out there and all of that kind of stuff. But it really applies to so much more in your life, everything in your life. And the only thing that you can control is your energy. You can't control what anyone else does, what anyone else thinks of you, whether or not you get that job, whether or not your partner can see you for who you are, whether or not your children misbehave. You can't control any of that, but you can control your energy. And it's your responsibility to control your energy, but also to understand your energy and to know when you're carrying energy that's not yours.
[00:01:37]:
We interact on a daily basis with so many things. People, I mean, we literally have a portal in our pockets. Your cell phone is energetically open all day, every day. And every post that you like on Instagram, every podcast that you listen to, every television show, every person that you interact with or hate like or stalk on the internet or any of those things, you are exchanging energy. And if you are not responsible for a that energy that you're putting out, but also for the energy that's getting stuck to you, you're walking around one big gooey mess of shitty energy. No wonder you feel bad. No wonder you hate the world, hate your life, hate what's going on. I imagine anyone listening to this podcast probably doesn't completely hate their life or hate other people.
[00:02:32]:
I feel like I wouldn't attract people like that. But you may be feeling kind of shitty and maybe don't completely love your life or where you're at. And the easiest way to begin changing that is to get in touch with your own energy and get in touch with what that feels like, what that looks like. Everybody's energetic signature is completely different, completely unique. And only when you can sit with yourself and get to know your own energy excuse me, are you able to then understand and know when you're projecting things that aren't yours, ideas that aren't yours, energy that is actually someone else's. Because again, we are always open and exchanging that energy. And so an exercise that I do every single day to call back my energy and get rid of any energy that isn't mine is a beautiful grounding exercise I learned from my intuitive mentor, Anaganon. And you stand with feet hip width, distance, hands by your sides, and you're calling the energy of the Earth up, in through the soles of your feet, in through the base of the spine, feeling as that energy floods your system, letting it settle in, allowing your body to move in whatever way it needs to.
[00:03:49]:
And once that energy has come up and out of the crown of the head, then you call in your energy and you say your full name to yourself three times and feel as that energy flows in through the crown of your head, up through the palms of your hands, down into your chest, hips, legs, all the way back to the earth. And I kid you not, you will start to identify your own energy. My energy has a specific color. It's purple. And when I do this meditation or this exercise, I can tell when my energy is off because I can feel how the energy comes into my body, if it's really slow, like molasses, or if it's shooting down. And in crystal clear, I know that I am already a clear vessel for this energy to embody and to get into. But if I've got someone else's energy in my space, if I got someone else's energy in my body, there's nowhere for my energy to go. And so then, as part of this exercise, you're releasing your energy back to the Earth and feeling this exchange of giving and taking within the body.
[00:04:59]:
And then at night, I also do another energy clearing exercise. Your energetic hygiene is like a constant thing. It's not something that you're just like, one day you're like, oh, I'll work on it, and I'm not going to work on it for three weeks. No. Every single day, it is your responsibility to work on your energy, to tune your energy to its highest frequency so that you're putting out the highest frequency of energy. And so at night, I do an energy clearing again from my mentor, Anaganon, that is all about clearing the Chakra system. So you have seven energy centers or energy wheels within the body, and you are going from the crown above your head, your third eye, between your brows, your throat, your heart, your solar plexus that's in that space, kind of in between the heart and the stomach, the womb space, your sacral center and your root. And at night, as you lay down before bed, you are going through each of these energy centers and saying to yourself, I release anything that's not mine.
[00:06:04]:
I let go and just envision that energy leaving your body. And then when you're done, you open a portal at the bottom of your feet to give all of that energy back to the Earth. And I have some meditations that I will actually leave in the show notes for you that are these meditations so that you can do them on your own. I'm going through them really quickly here just to give you an idea of how easy it can be to be responsible for your own energy. And once you start to clear and cleanse that energy and realize what's not yours, you are less likely to be reactionary. You are less likely to project onto other people. I'm not saying that you're never going to. I'm human.
[00:06:45]:
I do it all the time. But I'm in tune enough to now notice when I'm doing it and then take steps to change it. So, for example, this morning, I woke up super grumpy. I did not get a great night's sleep. I had really shitty energy, and I was not necessarily being shitty to my family, but I was low energy. And I told my husband, I got to go take some time to myself. I've got to go meditate. I'm going to go record a podcast episode, which I did and that helped move energy.
[00:07:15]:
I danced, I put on a song. I went outside this afternoon and moved my body even more, doing some Pilates and yoga. It was an all day thing. The Victoria of this morning is completely different than the Victoria right now recording this episode. My energy is so much better, and maybe I'll still release the episode I recorded earlier, but now I feel like myself. I am myself, because I got rid of all of that low, dense energy that wasn't mine. And I clear my energy every single day before I go to sleep. And I call in my energy every single morning.
[00:07:50]:
But some days it takes a little bit more because of what's going on in the collective, what's going on in your life, what is going on around you. And again, we're human. So I'm not saying here that you need to be perfect, that you're never going to tell someone to fuck off, because that's just not realistic. But you then have to take responsibility that that's how you're feeling, right? And that that's the energy that you're putting out into the world. And you have to stop and pause and say, is that what I want to be putting out in the world? Or do I want to be putting something out that's better, that's higher frequency? Personally, I want to be putting out something that's of a higher frequency. And so I'm now able to catch myself and notice when I am in those moods or when I'm not being truly energetically sovereign, or I'm being influenced by these outside energies that I haven't cleared from my system. And it really is as simple as having the intention of releasing. Yes, of course, you can do longer rituals or sit in ceremony, and that really moves a lot of energy.
[00:08:50]:
But if you don't have a lot of time if you're a busy mom like me. Saying your full name to yourself three times and letting that energy ground into your body is a game changer. Putting on a song and dancing and moving your body is a game changer. Everything is energy, and your emotions are just energy in motion. And so when you aren't feeling like yourself, you've got to move some of that energy out. You've got to come back to who you are. And it's your responsibility to do that. No one else can do that for you.
[00:09:19]:
No one else is going to make you happy. No one else is going to improve your mood but you. I'll say it again. You are responsible for your own energy. And that might make you feel uncomfortable. That actually might make you feel really mad, but you are responsible. Nobody else is responsible for making you feel happy. No one else can make you feel happy.
[00:09:42]:
Yes, you can feel happiness and joy in the presence of others or from interactions with others, but your emotions are entirely up to you and within your own realm of control. No one else's. So it's for a whole nother podcast episode. But I always say that joy is a choice, and I truly believe that. I've come to that realization because I am better in touch with my own emotions, with my own energy. And I understand that it's my responsibility to be responsible for these things. That it's. No one else's.
[00:10:16]:
No one else is going to come in and swoop it and save the day. I've got to be my own lighthouse, and amazing if that is a lighthouse for other people. But my internal work and my energy comes first. And you can only do that when you're in touch with yourself and with your energy. If you would like some more energy healing practices or guidance around that, I work with folks one on one, and I also have a library of on demand Kundalini meditations and breath work videos that I'd be happy to share. I will leave some sign up information in the show notes. Let me know. How does this make you feel to know that you're responsible? Because taking responsibility is hard, right? It's easy to point the figure and say it's someone else's fault.
[00:11:07]:
It's easy to put the blame elsewhere and say, no, it's not me. I'm fine. I'm good. But when you can have that radical responsibility and really look yourself in the mirror, that's where the growth happens. That's where the change happens. That's where the magic happens. Thank you so much for joining me today. I'm Victoria.
[00:11:28]:
I'll see you next week. Be good to one another. I love you.
